For our senior design project, my group and I challenged ourselves to design, test and produce an attachment which would give a pitching machine the ability to function autonomously. We made a lot of progress on this machine but due to the COVID 19 pandemic we were unable to build a fully functioning model. I was responsible for designing the attachment, creating a prototype and testing the product. Others in the group focused on creating the code for the attachment and creating a release mechanism for the ball feeder.

The first design of the base featured areas to mount servos, gears, an Arduino mega, and pixicam. The design was a bulky, and took a good amount of time to make with the 3D printer. Can only move in the X direction. This design was tested and worked properly.

The final design features a brand new design composed of two different pieces, one to move in the X direction, which is then attached to another piece which allows the machine to move in the Y direction. This version was not produced. To go more in depth please read the report attached to this post.
